I don't comment often but still enjoy reading your posts, and I'm in kind of a similar boat. I pursued a project for two years that turned out to not amount to much more than a prototype, but I can still say I learned a lot and mostly enjoyed the experience. It's hard watching a dream slip away, but at least you went for it, and if you learned a few things (which it seems you have) then it's certainly not a loss.
